2018 TMT Autonomous Challenge Champions

2018 TMT Autonomous Challenge Champions

Match Highlights
WIS Robotics competed at the 2018 TMT Autonomous Challenge this Saturday, April 7th 2018, held at the Hawaii Community College. We finished first place in the middle school division winning the championship title. This was a unique tournament where the competition game was not revealed until the tournament day. Students met a few times to receive some basic programming preparation in advanced; however, on tournament day students were on their own. They had to work together to analyze the game/field, develop solutions, and program their robot by themselves. Students could not ask their coaches for help during the tournament. Congratulations to our WIS Robotics Team Members (Left to Right): Micah Tajiri, Scott Hakoda, Victor Norem, Alex Ogawa, Jonah Furuli, Ayce Wakano (not pictured).

VEX IQ: Wheel Alignment Tips

VEX IQ: Wheel Alignment Tips

tutorials, VEX IQ
[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftq1_O9gfMQ[/embed] WIS Robotics explores a common problem with aligning the VEX IQ wheels. In some instances, even when you program the robot to drive straight it pulls to the left or right. Usually, this is caused by the wheels rubbing against the chassis. Some possible solutions to this problem include: Slightly offsetting the wheels on the wheel hub. Inserting a 1/2 pitch spacer between the wheel hub and chassis. Inserting a 2x2 plate between the wheel hub and the chassis. Watch the video to see which method we prefer and why.
