April Meeting Schedule

Attention students and parents, here is our meeting schedule for April 2017. Reminder: UPLINK does not begin until April 3rd, 2017. There will be no practice on March 31st, 2017. Location Parents picking up their child early, note the change in room locations! VEX IQ: Moved to Cafeteria instead of A3. VEX EDR: Room B9 or SHOP Times Practice will be cancelled on Friday, April 14th 2017 (Good Friday). Mondays (4/3, 4/10, 4/17, 4/24) 2:00 PM - 4:15 PM Fridays (4/7, 4/21. 4/28) 2:00 PM - 4:15 PM There will be no weekend practices scheduled during the month of April. New Business: VEX IQ League #2: The following students will represent us at Kea'au Elementary School's VEX IQ League: TEAM BURRITO: Jonah Furuli Reyn Funai TEAM TACO SALAD: Elijah Oliver Casen Nishioka Reminders: October 4th is Sputnik Day, Waiakea Intermediate school will host WES and WWES to participate in rocket launching activities. Build Team: IQ TEAM: 2:30-2:50: Create a new claw for VEX IQ Burrito Bot 2:50-4:15: Practice driving on the VEX IQ field... tournament simulations. EDR TEAM: 2:30-2:50 Install battery and remote controls into EDR Robots 2:50-4:15 Design and build throwing mechanism. Programming Team: Assist the IQ Team as needed to practice for the tournament. New Business Kea'au IQ League #2 Excursion and registration forms are due today! Kea'au IQ League Tournament #2 will be held at Kea'au Elementary School from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 1st, 2016. Advisors will call parents to confirm attendance. IQ TEAM DRIVERS: IF you would like to practice driving, you may practice before school from 7:20-7:50, recess, and lunch periods. If you would like to practice during advisory, you may get your homeroom teacher's permission to come to A3. A note will be required. Sputnik Day Waiakea Intermediate School will host Waiakea Elementary and Waiakeawaena Elementary School on October 4th. 8th Grade students may be called to support our activity. New Business Kea’au IQ League #2 Our IQ Team needs six students to represent our teams at Kea'au Elementary's VEX IQ League on October 1st, 2016 from 8:00am-2:00pm. All students will take home a permission form and students who can commit to attending one or more events should check off the appropriate boxes. Excursion permission forms are due at our next club meeting (September 26,2016). Sputnik Day Waiakea Intermediate School will host a Science and Rocket Exploratory Event ("Sputnik Day") for Waiakea Elementary School and Waiakeawaena School on October 4th.
