VEX will meet on September 23, 2016 at 2:30pm – 4:15pm. Please wait to be picked up from Uplink.

New Business

  • Kea’au IQ League #2
    • Our IQ Team needs six students to represent our teams at Kea’au Elementary’s VEX IQ League on October 1st, 2016 from 8:00am-2:00pm. All students will take home a permission form and students who can commit to attending one or more events should check off the appropriate boxes. Excursion permission forms are due at our next club meeting (September 26,2016).
  • Sputnik Day
    • Waiakea Intermediate School will host a Science and Rocket Exploratory Event (“Sputnik Day”) for Waiakea Elementary School and Waiakeawaena School on October 4th. We will need volunteer students to help organize and manage the event.
  • Robotics  T-Shirts
    • The web team designed our Robotics T-Shirts! Please bring a clean, white school-appropriate T-Shirt to our next meeting (or as soon as possible) to have our design printed. Printing costs will be taken care of by WIS Robotics Team.

Build Team: Meeting Location – B9/SHOP: Richardson

IMPORTANT: You must keep a daily log of your robot’s progress; even if you are building the pre-designed clawbot you should have a journal entry for each day that you worked on the robot.

VEX IQ:
Team Burrito:

  1. You will practice driving on the VEX IQ Field.  You are assigned to the orange field. You are assigned Burrito as your robot.
  2. You will design a new “claw” mechanism to better operate on the field, then work with the programming team to bring it to life.

Team Fries:

  1. You will practice driving on the VEX IQ Field. You are assigned to the blue field. You are assigned Taco Salad as your robot.
  2. You will design a new “claw” mechanism to better operate on the field, then work with the programming team to bring it to life.

VEX EDR: 
All EDR build team members will continue the design process for their robot. You must keep a daily log of your robot’s progress!

Programmers: Meeting Location – A3: Kitagawa

  1. You will practice scoring for VEX Crossover using our Automatic Scoring Tool and Manual Scoring Tool.
  2. You will work with Team Burrito and Team Fries to design and create a new “claw” mechanism for the league.

Web Team: Meeting Location – A3: Kitagawa

  1. Finish About Us Page (must be written in HTML and CSS).
  2. Create a page recapping the BrushBot Event held at WIS, WES, and WWES.
  3. Create a GoogleSlides presentation for Sputnik Day.
  4. Design a badge for Sputnik Day and for Keaau Elementary VEX IQ League Participation.
