What's the process for judging interviews?
At most events, interviews take place throughout the tournament day. This means your team will have to find time in between their qualification matches and skills matches to meet with the judges.
Make sure all of your team members are present for the judge interview.
An interview will last from 10-15 minutes. You may have more than one interview throughout the event depending on a number of factors.
What are judges looking for?
The judges are looking at how your team works together and how much you’ve learned. Here are the 8 main things they will be paying attention to:
Engineering Design Process
Did your team follow the steps to plan, build, test, and improve your robot?
How Your Robot Improved Over Time
Did your robot get better through updates and changes?
Understanding Your Robot
Can your team explain how your robot works and why you built it that way?
Programming Skills
Did your team write code for your robot? Can you explain what your code does?
Game Strategy
Does your team have a smart plan to score points and play the game well?
Creativity and New Ideas
How did your team think outside the box and come up with cool or clever solutions?
Using Time Wisely
How did your team stay organized and finish things on time?

Does everyone on the team help out, share ideas, and support each other?
